The last few months have been extremely overwhelming for everyone around the world. We have either been mandated to stay at home for months at a time or go to work where there is a higher risk of getting exposed. Some people are staying home alone, others with their significant other and some with their families. No matter we are or what our situation is, we need to put ourselves first.
Our mental health is something that is fragile and often overlooked. We tend to be busy bees and try to keep ourselves occupied every second of the day. It’s important to take a step back and really process what feelings and emotions we are feeling. I’ve talked to so many people who are living very different situations and everyone feels pretty much the same: lonely, overwhelmed and scared.
A few days ago, something awful happened. An innocent man lost his life in a tragic way. That incident led to protests, looting and violence. There are people marching in the streets while others watch from home on TV or follow along on social media. Most people are trying to educate themselves and be more supportive.
This is a time where we should be coming together instead of becoming even more divided. Most people’s emotions are at an all time high as the majority of people have been quarantined at home for an extended period of time. Check in on your friends and loved ones to see how they are feeling. It’s an extremely tough time for everyone and we need to be supportive.
Amidst all of this chaos and strings of emotions, remember to put yourself first. Only if you are okay can you really lend a helping ear or helping hand to someone else.

Spread love.
Xo,
Kika

June 5, 2020 at 2:58 pmGreat post! It reminds me of an Albert Camus quote: “Against eternal injustice, man must assert justice, and to protest against the universe of grief, he must create happiness.” Thanks for posting!
